Plant
To 20cm tall, slender with grassy, arched leaves 4-7 cm x 4-7 mm.
Flowers
Medium flowered 10 cm tall. Lateral sepals flat, leaning out from the flower but not crossing the dorsal sepal and often curving downwards near the tip. Labellum greenish brown to dark green with a pink tip midway between the lateral sepals and dorsal sepal.
Flowering
November - December.
Habitat
Shaded forest floor, typically in areas of base rich rocks. Waikato to Southland.
Conservation
Widely scattered localities but locally abundant; naturally uncommon, range restricted.
Notes
Very similar to P. irwinii but with lateral sepals not overtopping the dorsal.
