To 10cm tall, from a creeping rhizome. Leaves of two types: a stalked round leaf with crinkled margins rising from the rhizome and an elliptic, stalkless bract about half way up the stem.
Greenish gold, translucent, to 5mm wide. Dorsal sepal and labellum broad, lateral sepals longer and keeled, petals very short and upright.
December - January.
High rainfall areas, in deep mossy montane to subalpine beech forest and scrub. Ruapehu southwards.
Scattered in alpine places, locally common but somewhat solitary; naturally uncommon.
Small size, alpine habitat, round leaf.
