Thelymitra “orange-top”

Plant

To 60cm tall in flower, robust. Stem often tinged with purple. Leaves wide and strap-like, tinged with purple.

Flowers

Up to 32 flowers, purplish blue. Column pale blue to white, top rounded, deep orange, deeply notched. Column arms with short tufts of white or mauve cilia.

Flowering

October - November.

Habitat

Open clay areas amongst scrub. Widespread.

Conservation

Not assessed.

Notes

An undescribed species of the Thelymitra pauciflora group.

Key features

Column top bright orange, rather than yellow, deeply cleft and the flowers intensely coloured.
