Caladenia atradenia
Syn: Stegostyla atradenia Bronze Fingers PLANT: Terrestrial tuberous herb.
To 30cm high. Slender, wiry stem covered in short hairs. LEAVES: Single leaf, long and very thin, usually covered in hairs.
FLOWERS: 1 or 2, though usually only one. 1 - 2cm across. Greenish-yellow on the outside of the tepals, light coloured on the inside. Red bars on the inside of the labellum side-lobes. Labellum mid-lobe dark maroon edged with long marginal calli. Has 2 irregular rows of calli from the tip to the base of the labellum.
FLOWERING TIME: September - December.
HABITAT: Light forest and scrub with poor soils.
Prefers light to moderate shade. CONSERVATION STATUS: At Risk - Naturally Uncommon.
NOTES: Usually grows as a solitary plant rather than in a group. |
