New Zealand has almost 120 native orchid species

Browse the website to identify a species or find out about orchid habitats, distribution, flowering times, and structures.

The New Zealand Native Orchid Group is made up of enthusiasts from around New Zealand, with some members resident overseas. The group meets formally once a year for field days and discussions but also organises local “expeditions” to particular areas from time to time.

To catch up with events, activities and native orchid observations and news, check out the New Zealand Native Orchid Group Facebook page here .

The society has produced a number of publications over the years, including a quarterly journal.

Join the group and meet local people with a common interest, who are usually willing and able to share trips to places they know well.
