Thelymitra "sky"
Sun Orchid PLANT: Terrestrial tuberous herb.
Up to 40cm tall when in flower. Stem green and slender. LEAVES: Single. Upright. Green and V shaped in cross section.
FLOWERS: Up to 10 flowers.
1 - 1.5 cm across. Sky-blue, blue-mauve, or white. Sepals greenish on outer surface. Column white with a faint flush of indigo. Column apex blunt, coloured yellow. Column arms upturned with moderately coarse white cilia. FLOWERING TIME:
September - November. HABITAT: Gumland scrub.
CONSERVATION STATUS: Not Recorded. Uncommon.
NOTES: Similar to Thelymitra "rough leaf" but more slender. An undescribed species from the Far North. |
