Spider Orchid ![]() PLANT: Terrestrial tuberous herb.
To 50mm tall including lateral sepals. LEAVES: Single, tri-lobed leaf.
FLOWER: Solitary. Above or below the leaf. Dorsal sepal translucent yellowish-green. Labellum translucent yellowish-green with dark red-purple markings. Lateral sepals to 40mm long, erect, filiform, translucent, or tinged with purplish-red. Petals to 20mm, similar colouring to the lateral sepals.
FLOWERING TIME:
October - November. HABITAT: Montane to sub-alpine forest and scrub.
Recorded from Mt Ruapehu, Mt Taranaki, and Iwitahi. CONSERVATION STATUS: Not Recorded.
NOTES: A pale coloured sub-alpine taxon of the Nematoceras trilobum aggregate. |
