Nematoceras "darkie"
Spider Orchid PLANT: Terrestrial tuberous herb.
To 5cm high when in flower. LEAVES: Single 3-lobed leaf. Midlobe only a small apiculus.
FLOWER: Solitary. Dorsal sepal pale green-gray and lightly streaked blackish-crimson.
Labellum minutely hairy, outer surface olive-black, inner lighter dull olive with magenta fuzz. Lateral sepals long, pale green lightly streaked blackish crimson.
FLOWERING TIME:
November. HABITAT: Beneath scrub.
CONSERVATION STATUS: Not Recorded.
NOTES: An un-named species of the Nematoceras trilobum group. Known only from the Upper Wairau River in Marlborough. |
