PLANT: Terrestrial tuberous herb.
Up to 6cm high when in flower.

LEAVES: Single, stalked, round leaf, often with dark crimson spots.

FLOWER: Solitary. Flower above the leaf. Dorsal sepal long and evenly narrowing to an acute tip. Dorsal sepal pale green, streaked with red. Labellum not much wider than the dorsal sepal. Labellum narrow and tapering to an acute tip. Labellum dark crimson on top, with a pale translucent bib. The inner flexure to the labellum is sharply deflexed at an angle of 130°. Lateral sepals long and erect. Petals long and horizontal.

FLOWERING TIME: September - November.

HABITAT: Wet, mossy stream banks out of direct sunlight.

CONSERVATION STATUS: Not Threatened.

NOTES: An un-named species in the Nematoceras rivulare aggregate.
