Diplodium trullifolium
Syn: Pterostylis trullifolia Trowel Leaved Greenhood PLANT: Terrestrial tuberous herb.
To 30cm tall. Slender. LEAVES: FLOWERING PLANTS: Stem leaves 3 - 4, up to 3cm in length. Trowel-shaped.
NON FLOWERING PLANTS: Net-veined and embossed basal leaves in a rosette, oval, less than 1cm across. FLOWER: Single. 1 - 1.5cm high. Green with translucent white stripes. Lateral sepals diverge at a wide angle to form a U or wide W in frontal view. Sinus of the lateral sepals protruding. Labellum dark brown to reddish-brown, narrow triangular, slightly arched near the tip.
FLOWERING TIME: May - October.
HABITAT: Lowland to montane light forests and scrub.
CONSERVATION STATUS: Not Threatened. Locally common.
NOTES: Diplodium species have distinct adult and juvenile stages. |
