PLANT: Terrestrial tuberous herb.
3 to 6cm high when in flower.

LEAVES: Single, green, very shortly petiolate. Has only minor or no purple spotting on the leaves.

FLOWER: Structurally the same as normal C iridescens, but the labellum lacks the very dark colouring. Areas of the labellum are translucent and lacking in any pigmentation. Flowers open red, but usually darken as they mature. Flowers remain open for several weeks.

FLOWERING TIME:
July - October.

HABITAT: Very wet moss-covered banks. Lowland to montane.
Favours papa clay, limestone, and calcareous siltstone banks.

CONSERVATION STATUS: Not Recorded.

NOTES: So far recorded from inland Taranaki, Wanganui, and the Rimutaka's.
